OS X Mail

SMTP Auth and SSL

Economy ISP email may also be configured for SMTP Authentication and SSL encryption for outgoing email. Please note that SMTP Auth and SSL are optional and are not required to use Economy ISP email.

For further information and setup instructions, see the links below. NOTE: Please configure SMTP Auth or SSL after first configuring your email program for your Economy ISP email.

  • SMTP Authentication
  • SSL Encryption (outgoing)
  • SSL Encryption (incoming)
  • Open Mail. Click the Mail menu and choose Preferences.

    Click the arrow box on the Check accounts for new mail pop-up list and choose Manually, then click the Create Account button.

    On the Accout Options tab:

    • Choose POP Account in the Account Type pop-up list.
    • In the Description field, type your email address.
    • In the Email Adress field, type your email address.
    • In the Full Name field, type your name as you would like it to appear when you send email..
    • In the Host name field, type in your incoming mail server name. Click here for the list of Economy ISP Email Servers.
    • In the User name field, type your email username or Economy ISP email address in the format of username@ Economy ISP.net in lowercase letters.
    • In the Password field, type your email password.
    • In the SMTP Host field, type in your outgoing mail server name. Click here for the list of Economy ISP Email Servers.

      Click on the Account Options tab. Check the box next to Delete messages on server after downloading.

      Click the OK button to save the new account. Then close the Preferences window to return to Mail.

       


    Help us help you! If you contact Economy ISP support for assistance please write down any error messages you get when trying to connect to the Internet. Include the name and version of your operating system and the exact text of all error messages. If this information is included in an online case submission or provided to a support representative, it will greatly speed up the troubleshooting process.

    Please be aware that some troubleshooting may require uninstallation and reinstallation of operating system files. To ensure that this type of troubleshooting can be accomplished if required, please be sure that you have to have original Operating System CD or Operating system source files on disk on hand.
